I was recently asked to work with a team of area managers on a leadership programme. One of the critical topics they wanted built into the programme was a section on Leadership and Change. The team was familiar with many of the change leadership models, but asked me to spend some time walking them through the approach taken in the Prosci ®Methodology called ADKAR®. This is a proprietary tool for a very specific framework that is now one of the most widely used appraoches to change management: Jeff Hiatt and his team have done an excellent job of helping change managers and leaders use a methodology that considers:
- Awareness of the need for change
- Desire to participate and support the change
- Knowledge on how to change
- Ability to implement required skills and behaviors
- Reinforcement to sustain the change
